Only two Genesee County villages had primary elections Tuesday, and both Elba and Corfu voters chose village board members as mayors.

In Corfu, longtime Mayor Todd Skeet, backed by both major political parties, was defeated by two votes, 99-97, in unofficial returns, by Ralph Peterson Jr., the Corfu United Party candidate.

Corfu United candidates David Bielec and Keith Busch won two trustee seats over the GOP’s Albert Graham.

Elba’s top job went to Scott Schuler, a trustee for the past 10 years who defeated Conservative Michael Welch, 54-30. Schuler, a Republican, will succeed Stephen R. Goff, who resigned last year.

Three trustees – Dennis Rohan, Steve Hynes-Fisher and Raymond Hacket, all of them Republicans – were elected without opposition.
