Running back Tashard Choice reached agreement on a new contract with the Buffalo Bills, both he and his representatives reported Friday.

Choice, 28, played the last season and a half with the Bills after being claimed off waivers from Washington in November 2011. His contract ran out after last season.

Choice, 5-foot-9 and 210 pounds, is a five-year NFL veteran who has served as the Bills’ No. 3 running back. He averaged 7.8 snaps a game, or 12 percent of the offensive plays, last season. Most of his snaps came as a fill-in on third down or in the red zone. Choice rushed 47 times for 193 yards and caught four passes in 2012.

In Washington, D.C., meanwhile, tight end Fred Davis re-signed with the Redskins a day after visiting with the Bills.

A person familiar with the agreement says Davis received a one-year contract after exploring options with the Bills and New York Jets.

Davis might have been one of the most coveted tight ends on the free agent market if he were healthy, but he’s recovering from a torn left Achilles suffered in a loss to the New York Giants in October. He had 24 catches for 325 yards in seven games last year. Davis is a 2008 second-round pick of the Redskins who has caught 155 passes for 1,973 yards and 12 touchdowns in 62 games.
