The Aurora Historical Society is opening the doors early this season at four village historic sites for special tours beginning this Saturday and running through May 19.
Open-house style tours at 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays in that three-week span will be offered at the National Landmark Millard Fillmore House Museum, the Elbert Hubbard-Roycroft Museum and the Tiffany windows at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church. Backstage tours of the Aurora Players’ Roycroft Pavilion will be part of the tour only on Saturdays, May 4 and 18.
Advance reservations for the historic site tour are required by calling the historical society at 652-4735 or e-mailing ahs1951@verizon.net. Tickets are $15 for the historical site tour offered through the society.
Tours begin at the Millard Fillmore House on Shearer Avenue. Parking will be available nearby at Baker Memorial United Methodist Church at Main and Center streets.
The historical tours are not part of the Junior League of Buffalo’s Decorators’ Show House of the Knox mansion at Knox Farm State Park that is running during the same dates of April 27 through May 19. But the historic sites are open separately for tours during the same three weeks as the Decorators’ Show House for visitors who may want to check out additional activities going on in the village.
