Police are seeking the identity of a woman accused of trying to pass a forged prescription for Lortab this month at a pharmacy near Martin Luther King Jr. Park.
The woman, and a possible associate, tried to get a prescription filled on April 12 at the Rite Aid at 1070 Genesee St., near Fillmore Avenue, authorities said.
Pharmacy employees became suspicious, declined to fill the prescription and contacted the authorities, Trabert said.
Amherst police posted images of two women taken from the store’s surveillance camera on the department’s Facebook page.
A woman in the photos wearing a jacket with blue stripes is suspected of passing the forged prescription, while a woman in a red jacket may be her associate, Trabert said. Anyone who has information about this crime is asked to call the Amherst Police Detective Bureau at 846-6023 or email tips@apdny.org.
