All students at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute will get free Apple iPads next fall, thanks to the six-figure gift from an anonymous graduate of the school.
“We’ve already seen the power of these devices in the hands of our freshmen,” school President Robert T. Scott said. “Now, because of the generosity of a single alumnus, we will be able to provide that same technology to our approximately 400 other students.” The school provided free tablet computers for all its freshmen last September and planned to do the same with each incoming freshman class. Faculty will be prepared on how to use the iPads in their classrooms during the summer.
