Erie County sheriff’s deputies investigating a crash into a utility pole early this morning arrested the driver after determining that the car involved in the crash was stolen.
While on patrol in Concord shortly after 3 a.m., Deputies Don Hoelscher and Mike Sluberski responded to the crash on Route 240 near Middle Road, where they found the car and the utility pole that had been knocked down.
The deputies charged Jamie E. Schiefer, 20, of West Valley, with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal possession of stolen property, according to police reports.
Schiefer was released from Bertrand Chaffee Hospital after being treated for an assortment of injuries, police reported.
