Christopher Nixon Cox, a grandson of the late president, will join Town Supervisor Mary F. Holtz and Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka, consul general of Poland, as honorary grand marshals for Sunday’s Pulaski Day Parade in Cheektowaga.
The parade begins at 1:30 p.m. at the Thruway Mall, heads west on Walden Avenue and then north on Harlem Road to Cheektowaga Town Park. The annual event honors Gen. Casimir Pulaski, a Polish-born soldier who became a Revolutionary War hero.
Cox is a grandson of U.S. President Richard M. Nixon. Former First Lady Pat Nixon led the parade 40 years ago.
Other honorary grand marshals will be William M. Skretny, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York and honorary director of the General Pulaski Association; Bishop John E. Mack of the Polish National Catholic Church; and Don Postles, a news anchor at WIVB-TV.
