FREWSBURG – All residents of the Town of Carroll are being asked to conserve water until further notice following a break in a water main on Route 62 that cut off a large water storage tank in the northern part of the water district from the rest of the town.
Chautauqua County Health and Human Services Director Christine Schuyler urged residents Thursday to cut their water usage in half until the main can be fixed. She said that everyone should avoid washing cars, filling pools and watering lawns and gardens.
She also advised taking fewer and shorter showers, fixing or shutting off running toilets, using disposable plates, cups and eating utensils instead of washing dishes, and going to neighboring communities to do laundry.
