The Buffalo Bills are in line for the No. 6 pick in the 2013 NFL draft, with one week to go in the regular season.
Kansas City (2-13) and Jacksonville (2-13) are locked into the top two spots. Oakland, Philadelphia and Detroit all stand 4-11 and currently complete the top five.
The Bills are one of four teams at 5-10, along with Cleveland, Tennessee and Arizona. There are four teams at 6-9 – San Diego, the Jets, Tampa Bay and Carolina.
Strength of schedule is the tiebreaker for draft positioning. In case of a tie, the team with the easier schedule picks sooner.
The Bills’ strength of schedule (.487) is easier than that of the other 5-10 teams. The Browns are at .500, the Titans .513 and Arizona .563.
If the Bills lose to the Jets, the highest they probably could pick would be fourth. The Bills’ strength of schedule is easier than that of Philadelphia (.508) and Detroit (.571). The Bills can’t move ahead of Oakland (.467).
If the Bills beat the Jets, the lowest they probably would pick would be 11th.

Sunday’s game against the Jets will be blacked out from local television.

The Bills’ receiving corps is undermanned due to the recent injuries to tight end Scott Chandler and receiver Donald Jones. Chandler went out with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee Sunday in Miami. Jones went on injured reserve last week.
Backup tight end Dorin Dickerson hurt his ankle in Miami but was able to practice on a limited basis Wednesday. Backup Ruvell Martin, currently No. 4 on the receiver depth chart, was excused from practice for a couple of days for personal reasons. He’s expected to be available Sunday. Marcus Easley, No. 5 at receiver, sat out last week with a sore hamstring but was able to be limited on Wednesday.
“We’re going to be struggling to do some of the things that we need to do,” coach Chan Gailey said. “To get into some of your two tight [end] stuff you might have to put an extra lineman in there to get some of that done. There’s some things with Marcus not being 100 percent. Just for your information, Ruvell Martin will not be at practice for the next couple days for personal excuse. He is excused.”

Besides Chandler and Martin, others sitting out practice for the Bills were safety Jairus Byrd (ankle), guard Andy Levitre (knee), defensive tackle Kyle Williams (ankle) and safety Da’Norris Searcy (groin).
Jets starters who did not practice were tight end Dustin Keller (ankle), defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson (concussion, knee), receiver Chaz Schillens (knee) and linebacker Bryan Thomas (chest).
The Bills signed tight end Derek Buttles to the practice squad and released tackle J.B. Shugarts. Buttles, 6-5 and 230, played at Maine.

Bills defensive end Mario Williams donated a 2009 Ford F-250 pickup truck to two Marine veterans near his hometown in North Carolina. Sgt. Justin Hunter and his wife, Staff Sgt Cherie Hunter, of Jacksonville, N.C., never met Williams but were the recipients of his holiday generosity. Williams made the donation through North Carolina-based Purple Heart Homes, a nonprofit group that provides housing solutions for service-connected veterans. The Jacksonville Daily News reported the donation on Monday.
