President Obama’s appearance Thursday morning in Alumni Arena on the University at Buffalo North Campus in Amherst will be free and open to the public, but tickets will be required for admission.
Members of the public can pick up their free tickets – one ticket per person – at the Alumni Arena box office starting at 5 p.m. today. They will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
A portion of the tickets is being set aside for UB students, faculty and staff, who can sign up for a ticket through an online lottery.
The lottery sites will be open through 9 a.m. today.
Those receiving the nontransferable tickets – also one per person – will be notified by noon today, according to the UB website.
Those attending Obama’s appearance will go through airportlike security, according to UB, and are asked to bring as few personal items as possible. People can bring cameras, but no bags, signs or liquids will be allowed inside the arena.
Doors for Thursday’s event will open at 9 a.m.
