A cold milk separation facility that will be built in Livingston County is getting $150,000 in Excelsior tax credits from Empire State Development.

The $12 million project is part of a partnership between Dairy Farmers of America, a national milk marketing cooperative, and Craigs Station Ventures. The venture will build a 14,000-square-foot facility at Noblehurst Farms in the Town of York, northeast of Geneseo, that is expected to create 11 new jobs.

Noblehurst Farms is part of a group of eight dairy farms in Livingston and Wyoming counties that owns Craig Station Ventures.

The facility will receive about 1 million pounds of fresh milk each day and separate it into roughly 990,000 pounds of standardized milk and cream daily. The plant will be powered with renewable energy from an anaerobic digester.
