Both men injured during the Buffalo Bills game Sunday afternoon when one of them fell from the Ralph Wilson Stadium upper deck have been treated for their injuries and released from the hospital, officials confirmed late this morning.
Video footage that has gone viral on several websites Sunday and today shows one of the men sliding down a railing on the side edge of the 300 level, before tumbling off and falling onto a group of people in the 200 level, injuring one of those people.
Both men were treated at the scene, then taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. They were released from ECMC early Sunday evening, authorities said.
An ambulance report from Rural/Metro Medical Services said that the man who fell suffered a shoulder injury and that the man he struck had a head injury.
Authorities have not released the names of the two men or any other details of the incident, which occurred during the second quarter of the Bills’ 37-14 victory over the New York Jets.
The incident apparently was recorded by network television cameras covering the game. The video that has been posted on several websites shows the indistinct figure of a man sliding on the railing, then tipping over the side.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said that a report on the incident would be issued today.
