The Red Cross will hold blood drives today and over the holiday weekend at several sites across Erie County, in anticipation of the need for blood for weekend accidents and other emergencies.
Blood donors will be received from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Friday at the Buffalo Blood Donation Center, 786 Delaware Ave; 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Friday at the Hamburg Blood Donation Center, 5161 Camp Road, Hamburg; and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today and Friday at the Mid City Plaza Blood Donation Center, 301 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda.
Other blood donor drives will be held at the Cheektowaga Blood Donation Center, 576 Dick Road, Cheektowaga, and at the Transitown Blood Donation, 4267 Transit Road, Amherst.
Eligible donors who present the Red Cross credentials through Monday will receive a Red Cross T-shirt. Donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment in advance by calling 1-800-RED CROSS or by visiting the Red Cross website online at redcrossblood.org.
