The storm that joined with a Noreaster to wreak havoc in New England dumped a good bit of snow on this region Friday – and that’s about it.
The northern parts of Western New York were hardest hit, with snow storm totals in the 15 to 16 inch range.
And in a role reversal, the Southtowns and Southern Tier – usually considered the snow belt – got little more than four inches.
“It was quite a range of total snowfall from north to south,” said National Weather Service meteorologist tom Paone.
The weather service’s Buffalo office in Cheektowaga logged eight inches of snow, Paone said.
The heavy snow is over for the region for now, he said Saturday morning, although we may see a snow shower or two.
Temperatures will top out in the lower 20s today, but will rise over the next few days.
Sunday is expected to be sunny with a high around 40.
On Monday, the temperatures may get up to the mid-50s, but that may also be accompanied by rain.
