Paving projects will begin squeezing traffic today on two major routes in the Northtowns – Delaware Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda from Sheridan Drive to the Tonawanda city line, and Millersport Highway in Amherst in the vicinity of the I-990 interchange and the corner of North French Road.
The state Department of Transportation reports that lanes will be closed on Delaware Avenue between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. today through Friday.
On Millersport Highway, lanes will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through next Tuesday. At least one lane will remain open in each direction.
Motorists heading to and from the Southtowns will face lane closures from Wednesday to Friday on Route 5 near Tifft Street in Buffalo. Outbound lanes heading west will be restricted from
7 a.m. to noon on those days, then work will shift to the inbound lanes heading east from noon to 5 p.m. At least one lane will remain open at all times.
