TOWN OF NIAGARA – The town Industrial Development Agency will hold a public hearing at 2:30 p.m. today on a 15-year property tax break for the planned $71 million 50-store expansion of Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls.
However, the IDA board will not vote on the deal at its 3 p.m. meeting, IDA counsel Mark J. Gabriele said Tuesday.
He said that action cannot be taken until the town completes its environmental review of the project and that the soonest that can happen would be at the next town Planning Board meeting March 26.
It originally was announced that the town IDA planned to vote on the proposed tax abatement immediately after today’s public hearing.
Fashion Outlets would be taxed on 40 percent of the assessed value of the mall’s new wing during the period of the tax abatement, Gabriele said.
Today’s hearing will be held in Town Hall, 7105 Lockport Road.
